THAI SILK INDIGO ; How to get Kram dye

    Indigo is a color named after the purple dye derived from the plant Indigofera tinctoria in Thailand was call Kram.Indigo is a dye different from any other. It is dyed through a living fermentation process that does not require any mordant.


   My country had  Thai silk Kram production group was name Nonsaad silk Kram. There is small group  they will make after harvest season. I had leaning about Silk Kram procedure and will explain about this.

1. Prepare Kram .

 2.Kram be immersed in water long 2 day.

 3. Put Red lime to the Kram for sedimentation.

 4 Then we get Kram dye.

 5. Prepare material was local wood Then  we had to material to fire . we got the ash after that mix ash with water  it become Dang for mix Kram dye. 

6.Mix Dang and Kram.

7.Captive sun to dry.
